Tempo Season continues. The Mach returns and it's the lightest, most responsive to date. We know HOKA is going to stick the landing when it comes to the colorways, and the shoes justify the flair!
There are several different colorways floating around our University City and Center City stores. I pride myself on being in the right place at the right time, and I just so happened (wink wink) to be hanging around 1711 Walnut Street when these beauties arrived. If you remember, I am working on my version of speed this season. The Mach 6 features a low–profile cushion bed that keeps your foot closer to the ground, and utilizes a firmer material designed to provide an efficient push–off. In layman's terms, the shoe has a snappy feel with each step, allowing you, me, us to fly off of the ground while running.
Normally, I'd jump into some quirk about how 'layman's terms' came about with an origin story, and how it reminds me of some random moment in my life, yada yada yada. Instead, I'll share that I'm signing up for my second race of the year tomorrow (or Friday) and the 6 will definitely be in my rotation. It doesn't hurt that some of the colorways play very nicely on the casual scene. You know.....casual Friday wear, right into a Saturday run. Maybe with Team Philly. See you there?
HOKA has spared no detail in making sure the shoe looks fast as well! "If you look good, you feel good, If you feel good, you run good, If you run good, they pay good".....or something like that. I could see Coach Sanders in these:
Fine–tuned for extra energy return
5mm drop
Upper created with zonal breathability
LIGHTWEIGHT
The shoes justify the flair. A Prime–Time (get it?) pick (get it?) for racing and speed workouts on both the road and the track and the treadmill (this was a really poor attempt at a Yogi Berra ism).
Normally, I'd end with the "37 pieces of flair" bit from Office Space, how Deion Sanders wore number 37 as a Baltimore Raven, and checkmate! Instead, I'm off to get some miles in these and I’ll circle back with a full review. And yes, every time I say that I do buy the shoes, and I do take them running (and out for casual Friday wears). Stop by one of our shops and you can take a pair running too!
