You may be thinking to yourself, what's a buff and why should I own one (or more!)?
The term "buff" comes from the Spanish work for scarf: bufanda. Buffs are fabric tubes that are probably one of the most versatile pieces of gear out there. They have many different uses, but are generally intended to keep your neck, face and head warm, dry and protected from the sun. Buffs are like are a secret weapon - one of those things you just have to have. You may not need it on every run but it's a great accessory to have and one that you will use more often than you think.
Here are our top 3 reasons to have a buff:
1. Handle Unexpected Weather Year Round: You checked the weather 18 times before you left the house but SURPRISE! The weather channel forgot how unpredictable Mother Nature can be. Good thing you remembered your handy dandy buff!
Buffs are great for keeping you warm during fall or winter running but can also be worn in the spring and summer to hold back your hair and sweat or protect your skin from the sun. Whether you find yourself trying to hide from the sun or keep warm when it's chillier than you dressed for, or to protect your face because the wind is blowing some serious dust, this thin fabric layer helps cover normally exposed areas while still allowing for easy breathing.
2. Versatility: Buffs are one of the most adaptable accessories and can be worn in at least a dozen different ways. We spent way too much time on Google and Youtube looking at the ways people have worn and used their buffs. People are creative. Here are the most common ways to wear a buff:
3. Wipe it up: Buffs are easy to wrap around your wrist for convenient wiping while you're on the go. Whether you're soaking up sweat, wiping your face, blowing your nose or using one as an emergency towel, buffs are made with a breathable, wicking fabric that dries quickly.
