The one-hour, all-levels yoga class is great for runners and fitness enthusiasts looking to switch up their regular routine. Practicing yoga after a run, when your muscles are warm and soft, will make you feel a whole lot better the next day. Post run yoga can help prevent injuries by improving the health and strength of muscles.

Running through the winter is tough. It's cold out, the paths are covered in snow and ice, and the shorter hours of daylight force us to run in the dark. 

So, why get out of your warm bed to run in the winter? To put it simply, running in winter will make you a better runner. Oh, and let's not forget to mention the most important thing: It's more fun to run with friends! 

As the temperatures drop, our group runs are just heating up! Join our Winter Break Running Series and get ahead start on your training for the Blue Cross Broad Street Run and other spring races. Each Saturday in January we are meeting at 9AM in one of our shops:

1/5: PR Center City with the Sansom Street Donut Run!
1/12: PR University City
1/19: PR Glen Mills
1/26: PR Manayunk

Free Fitness Alert!

Join us on Sunday, January 6th for a free 40 - 45 minute class lead by EverybodyFights Philadelphia in our University City shop.
Wondering what type of workout is Everybody Fights? An interval-based class incorporating shadow boxing components and body weight exercises. Taught in rounds, the class will begin with an introduction to boxing technique followed by a full warm up. It's a 12 round class, alternating between shadow boxing and body weight rounds. The final round will include a flow cool down focused on mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation.

On Saturday, October 20th we’re partnering with Students Run Philly StyleTeam Philly Race Training, and the Philadelphia Marathon for the 4th Annual All City 20 Miler (10 Miler too!). 

We're inviting all Philly (and beyond) runners to run long with us! Whether you are training for the Philadelphia Marathon, Half Marathon or just want to join the long run fun, we’ll have a fully supported course with pace groups and hydration stations along the way to keep you moving and fueled properly. The 20 and 10 mile runs will both start and end in the Azalea Garden between the Art Museum and Lloyd Hall. All are welcome to join!

With the support of these caring adults, Students Run youth work toward personal running goals and embrace the program’s core values of Courage, Effort and Respect to accomplish miles and milestones they once believed to be impossible. Students Run Philly Style is a noncompetitive running program, so students will be out training to beat their own personal bests – give them a high five to help them on their way!
