Finding your Fit: A bra for EVERY body.

Hey girls, has running ever gotten a bit… out of hand? Come on you know what I’m talking about. It’s okay, we should be comfortable talking about the uncomfortable! No matter what type of movements we are doing, from yoga to boot camp classes, sometimes we just gotta strap down the girls.

Don’t lie, I know you've went through some extremes to get support. Yes, I’m talking about tape and double bra-ing it, YIKES! These crazy stunts are usually a side effect of 80% of women being in the wrong size sports bra. I know 80 percent is a high number but listen, bra sizes can constantly change due to age, pregnancy, or even weight change.

Without supportive sports bras, our breasts will inevitably begin to bounce during activity which causes the ligaments to stretch. These ligaments will not be able to repair themselves on their own, so it is very important to be replacing your sports bras just as often as you are replacing your running shoes (every 6-8 months)! A good little reminder to tell yourself is “A sports bra should never see a birthday”. So if ole reliable has been in the drawer since 2016, you should probably consider its retirement.

If you're in need of a new sports bra, you can stop by any of our shops for a free fitting. We carry Brooks sports bras (formerly known as Moving Comfort) that support all levels of activity.

We should all be able to move with confidence, so if you fall into that 80 percent that is unsure of your size or you're just in need of a new bra, stop by your local Philadelphia Runner for a bra fitting. Did I mention it’s free? Remember, it’s always a great idea to get resized as our bodies are constantly changing and weight is fluctuating.
